5 office things you didn't even know you needed...

Hey Corporate Black Girl! ✨ What are some of your office essentials? Cute mug, desk decor, wrist pillow? Here's a few things you may not have known that you needed....

1. Blue Light Blocking Glasses

Yes, even if you have "perfect" vision, you need these glasses to protect your eyes Sis. These glasses are pretty cool because they look normal but when you spend long hours staring at the computer they are also protecting your eyes. They can help prevent those irritating headaches you get when your eyes are fatigue. These are a great preventive measure for us CBGs who plan to spend quite a bit of our careers behind a desk. (because that's where all the magic happens anyway 😉)

2. Wrist Pillows

Yes, I know these look so corny but these will help in the long run. Idk about you, but I have an honest fear of developing carpal tunnel. Carpal tunnel can happen to anyone, young, old, newbie or an office vet. So let's not put ourselves in danger. They have many different types for your mouse and keyboard: gel filled, memory foam, leather, you name it. You can even get one that has a mouse pad already attached, or add one to your favorite mouse pad. So go ahead and grab one for your keyboard and your mouse!

3. Essential Oil Diffuser/Humidifier

Boujee? haha. Maybe so, but it adds a pleasant aroma to your space. Using an essential oil diffuser can add a little personality to your space while serving many different purposes. I personally use mine for relaxation, that lavender hits different when you're stressed, I swear. I have a small one that can be plugged into a USB. It's perfect for my cubicle, if you have an office I'd suggest a larger one. I bought mine from Marshall's but of course Amazon has everything. If you want to add a diffuser/humidifier to your space, be sure to buy the type of oil diffuser/humidifier that requires water, the others don't seem as effective.

4. Snuggie

I know I know, super childish right? But most offices do not allow you to have a heater and sometimes that office sweater is not enough. I've seen others keep a blanket to cover their legs or to throw over their shoulders but why not use a Snuggie? It's literally perfect for this. I remember when Snuggies first debuted with those corny ass commercials but obviously they were on to something. A blanket with sleeves? Problem solved, I can now work without rearranging a blanket to ensure I'm warm. Get you one, it'll change your life. 🤷🏽‍♀️

5. Cup Warmer

Are you a die hard coffee drinker? Welp, you def need to check this one out. I am a sucker for getting my morning coffee/tea, sitting it down at my desk and forgetting about it. Why? Because I'm caught up with my work best friend getting the morning scoop. But this way, I'm getting hot office tea while my tea remains hot. It's definitely a must have.
